A planner that tells you how well it knows each answer
Most journey planners show a confident minute and a confident price for every leg on earth. We show a range, say where it came from, and hand you to the operator to book.
Where the figures come from
The network is a table a person maintains: cities, airports, stations and ports, and the rail, coach and ferry links between them, each with a typical journey time taken from the operators’ published timetables, and the date it was written. Flight legs are estimated from distance, with the airport time that a real journey involves added to the total. Every leg on a plan carries its own label: typical time from a timetable, or an estimate from distance.
Emissions are approximate, from published per-kilometre conversion factors by mode. Fare bands are wide on purpose and are not quotes; a real price appears only when a seller returns one.
How we earn
When a leg can be booked through a partner, the plan offers a clearly marked step to the operator or an authorised seller. If you book there, the seller may pay us a referral commission. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not change the order of the options: options are sorted by journey time, and a leg is never hidden because it pays nothing.
What we will never do
- Take your payment, hold a booking, or be the seller of a ticket.
- Show a minute or a price we cannot stand behind.
- Send your name, contact details or anything about you to a seller. The handover carries the journey only.
- Sort options by what they pay us.
- Add hotels or self-drive car hire alongside transport. That would make this a different kind of company, and we say so on the legal page.

For every leg we state who provides it and how it can be arranged: booked on the operator's own site or with an authorised seller, or bought locally. Nothing is ever charged or booked without your explicit action on a clearly marked step, and the price you pay is the seller's price.
Something wrong on a plan? Every leg has a "This does not look right" link. A report is received, goes under review, and ends corrected or rejected; a corrected leg shows the new date its source was verified. You can also write to info@protravelnet.com. Our role, privacy and terms.
