The fastest way, step by step

The fastest way in full, leg by leg. The time spent moving is separated from the time spent getting to it and away from it, because both are part of the journey and only one of them is a timetable.

What matters on this route

Trains run at least hourly and take around three hours; the newer services can be faster. This is the default way between the two cities and it is hard to argue with.

The coach via the Molslinjen ferry from Sjællands Odde is a real alternative: it takes about the same time, is often cheaper, and the ferry crossing is a pleasant hour. Coaches leave from the city centre.

Flying between the two exists, but by the time the airport at Tirstrup is counted in, it saves nothing.
