The fastest way, step by step

The fastest way in full, leg by leg. The time spent moving is separated from the time spent getting to it and away from it, because both are part of the journey and only one of them is a timetable.

What matters on this route

Direct trains run several times a day and take about five hours, going the long way round through Jutland since trains stopped using the ferry. It is a comfortable ride with no changes.

Coaches take four and a half to six hours depending on whether they use the ferry, and are cheaper.

The flight is under an hour but the airports add two hours or more, so it wins only if the fare is exceptional.
