The fastest way, step by step

The fastest way in full, leg by leg. The time spent moving is separated from the time spent getting to it and away from it, because both are part of the journey and only one of them is a timetable.

What matters on this route

The flight is about an hour and ten minutes and both airports have fast trains to the centre, so this is one of the pairs where flying is hard to beat on time.

By train it is a day: Copenhagen to Gothenburg in under four hours, then Gothenburg to Oslo in about three and a half. A pleasant journey along the coast, with a change that is easy to make.

The DFDS overnight ferry from Copenhagen sails in the afternoon and arrives in Oslo the next morning. It is the slowest way and the only one that is also a night’s accommodation; whether that makes it good value depends on the cabin you choose.
