The fastest way, step by step

The fastest way in full, leg by leg. The time spent moving is separated from the time spent getting to it and away from it, because both are part of the journey and only one of them is a timetable.

What matters on this route

The X2000 runs directly from Copenhagen Central across the Øresund Bridge to Stockholm Central in roughly five to five and a half hours. Booked ahead it is often cheaper than the flight, and it lands you in the centre with no airport at either end.

Flights are frequent and the flight itself is about an hour and ten minutes, but Arlanda is forty minutes from the city and Kastrup fifteen, so the door-to-door time is closer to four hours. The train wins on emissions by a very wide margin.

Coaches run, mostly overnight, and take eight to ten hours.
